At last, I have a laptop of my own now. It took most of my June salary, but it’s worth it. Now I can write down my ideas while on the move, or even connect myself to a wireless network nearby (such as a cafĂ©). Last Tuesday, my mother’s laptop arrived along with a wireless router (which I’ve installed and connected to the Internet at home), and a week or two before that, my sister went a bought a laptop for herself. Who would’ve thought that I’d be the last one in this house to get a laptop?
I’m crazy about this little sucker, btw. Even if it only has a Celeron processor (yeah, I know – I misread the system specs when I placed the order). It will come in handy at work as well as during my morning session, when all I do before leaving for work in the morning is to download my daily e-mail and get updated on a few websites. Now I can do this upstairs and make myself ready to leave for work while I wait for pages to load.
And if some of you are actually wondering about the system specs, here goes:
- Intel Celeron M 1.40GHz
- 512MB RAM
- 40 GB harddrive
- Windows XP Home installed (yeah, I found out I didn’t need much more than that)
- Built-in wireless LAN, regular (cabled) network and 56K modem
- DVD-ROM and CD-RW combo drive
- Norton Internet Security 2005
- 3 USB ports, built-in sound card with speakers (who doesn’t nowadays?)
- 15″ XVGA screen (enough for my use)
And it’s a Dell Inspiron 2200 model, too.
Other than that, it’s all the usual standard laptop stuff. I even bought it with a nice Targus backpack especially suited for laptops. How about that?
THAT’S THE SAME LAPTOP I BOUGHT FOR MY SON MICHAEL HERE AT THE BEST BUY IN L.A. I’M A MAC GUY BUT I MUST ADMIT THAT THE BUILT-IN SPEAKERS ARE AWESOME
I LOVE READING YOUR BLOG. IT MAKES ME WANT TO GO TO NORWAY WHEN I HIT EUROPE FOR MY FUNDING FORAY (I’M STARTING A TV NETWORK)
YOUR ENGLISH IS BETER THAN MINE. NORWAY OBVIOUSLY HAS A PHENOMENAL EDUCATION SYSTEM.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
